CFS Board Approves Demolition of Minnesota Lake Woodhouse After Festag

Following the conclusion of Festag on July 17th, the board has approved the demolition of the Minnesota Lake woodhouse, scheduled to start on July 22nd. This decision, made with careful consideration for safety and operational efficiency, ensures our continued commitment to maintaining a safe environment for our community and operational efficiency. Here are some important details you should know:

No Impact on Storage Capacity The demolition of the woodhouse will not impact our storage capacity. For the past five years, we have not used the wood house for grain storage. This means our current operations and storage capabilities will remain unaffected.

Safety Concerns The primary reason for the demolition is safety. The wood house has developed a significant lean towards Hwy 22, creating a potential safety hazard. Addressing this issue is crucial for the safety of our community and the integrity of our operations.

New Scale Installation Following the demolition, we will be installing a new scale at the Minnesota Lake facility. This scale is expected to be fully operational and ready for use by Harvest. This upgrade is part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services and infrastructure.
